Not Your Life to Take

Finding Hope When You’re Ready to Give Up

There comes a point when life can feel too heavy to carry, when pain outshines purpose, and you start wondering if your absence would hurt less than your existence. Whether it be in life, with your family, in ministry or even your faith.

Sometimes it’s not your life you want to give up on — it’s your calling.

Maybe you’ve poured everything into ministry, only to feel unseen and unfulfilled.

Maybe your marriage feels like more work than love lately.

Maybe your faith has gone quiet, and you’re tired of pretending you still feel close to God.

You’ve prayed. You’ve served. You’ve showed up — and still, something in you whispers, “I can’t do this anymore.”

The truth is, you’ve made it through every hard day you thought would destroy you. You’ve stood back up after storms that should’ve buried you. Even if you don’t feel strong right now, even if you’re barely holding on — you’re still here. That alone speaks volumes.

But before you walk away — from life, from ministry, from your family, from your faith, etc. I need you to pause.

Because what you’re carrying right now might not be the end; it might be the in-between. The space between breaking and breakthrough.

The part of your story where it hurts the most but shapes you the deepest.

Sometimes God allows the weight to bring us back to His strength.

Sometimes He lets what we’ve built fall apart just to rebuild us.

Your worth isn’t canceled because you’re tired.

Your calling isn’t over because you need a break.

And your faith isn’t fake just because it’s fragile right now.

Sometimes the most powerful act of faith is simply staying.

Staying alive. Staying open. Staying long enough to see that the pain has an expiration date and purpose has a way of returning when you least expect it.

If you’re standing in that hard middle, feeling like you’ve lost your reason to keep going... hold on.

God still has something on the other side of this moment, and it still includes you.

You are not done. You are not forgotten. And this is not your life to take.
