Greater Works: Maybe You’re the Example

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

— John 14:12

Searching for an Example

When we’re believing God for something big, it’s natural to look for encouragement in other people’s stories. We scroll through YouTube testimonies, TikTok reels, or online communities to see if someone else has faced what we’re facing and come out victorious.

And when we find that testimony, it fuels our faith. We think, If God did it for them, He can do it for me too.

But what happens when you don’t find an example?

When the Example Doesn’t Exist

Sometimes our search leaves us empty. No video, no blog post, no testimony that matches what we’re walking through. That’s when discouragement can creep in and whisper, Maybe it’s not possible.

But the truth is: the absence of someone else’s story doesn’t mean God won’t move. It might mean God wants to use you to become the story.

Becoming the Greater Work

When Jesus promised that His followers would do greater works, He wasn’t just speaking about miracles we’ve already seen. He was pointing to new ways His power would be revealed through us.

That means your situation may not have a blueprint. You may not find anyone else who has walked this exact road. And that’s okay... because maybe you are the greater work He was talking about.

Your testimony might be the one that others cling to in the future. Your story could be the proof that God is still doing the impossible today.

Hold On to Faith

So if you’re in a season where no example exists, don’t lose heart. God may be writing a first-of-its-kind miracle through your life. You don’t need someone else’s confirmation when the

Word of God already promises His power.

Remember this: maybe you won’t find the example—because you’re meant to be the example.
